Prayer for the Fourth Sunday of Advent
O Come, God of Love,
O Come, Lord of Ancient Israel,
On this the last Sunday of Advent,
we join our hearts and voices
with those across the world,
across time and space.
As we remember the fulfillment of your long ago promise of salvation,
and celebrate the birth of your son,
may our reflections, our prayers,
our words and actions bring joy to you,
and love to the world.
May your love hold each of us
and all people,
that it may once again
be made incarnate in this world.
In the name Jesus, our Love,
O Come O Come, Emmanuel – Ed. Susi Kawolics – Lord of Ancient Israel
O come, O God of Ancient Israel,
Who with your people faithfully do dwell.
You’ve showed yourself in tablets of law,
and burning bush, and cloud that wand’rers saw.
Rejoice! Rejoice! O God of Ancient days
We trust and rest our hearts in you always.
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel – Traditional – Lord of Ancient Israel
O come, O come, our Lord of might,
Who to your tribes on Sinai’s height
In ancient times gave holy law,
In cloud and majesty and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to you, O Israel!
