O Radiant Dawn, Come
Psalm 97:11 Light dawns for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.
O Radiant Dawn, Come~
Our hearts long for the light on this,
the shortest, darkest day of the year.
The night looms long and difficult.
Our worries overwhelm us,
our loneliness is intensified,
our fears grow bigger.
Hold us securely and tenderly
when the dawn comes
with the promise of light,
the promise of a new day.
We start anew each morning
in your promise of salvation, of forgiveness,
of amazing grace and abiding presence.
Let your face shine upon us
as we embrace the gift of this day.
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel – Ed. Susi Kawolics – O Radiant Dawn
O come, O Dayspring, in our darkest night
with your bright stars and moon disperse our fright.
Weave light through shadows making all things new
and bring a wholeness only found through you.
Rejoice! Rejoice! O God of Radiant Light
and put the darkness of our lives to flight.
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel – Traditional – O Radiant Dawn
O come, thou Dayspring, come and cheer,
Our spirits by thine advent here,
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death’s dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to you, O Israel!
