Prayer for the Fourth Sunday of Advent

O Come, God of Love,
Traditional Antiphon: O Come, King of All Nations~

On this the last Sunday of Advent,
we join our hearts and voices
with those across the world,
across time and space.
As we rejoice in the fulfillment of your promise of salvation
and celebrate the birth of your son,
may our reflections, our prayers,
our words and actions bring joy to you,
and love to the world.
May this love hold each of us,
and every person throughout the world
that love may once again
be made incarnate in this world.

From the hymn “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”

O come, Desire of nations, bind
All peoples in one heart and mind;
Bid envy, strife and quarrels cease,
Fill the whole world with heaven’s peace.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to you, O Israel!
