O Transformer of Sorrow, Come

Baruch 5:1  Take off the garment of your sorrow and affliction, O Jerusalem, and put on forever the beauty of the glory from God.

Prayerful Reflection
O Transformer of Sorrow, Come~
When our hearts are cloaked
in sorrow or affliction,
in rage or unforgiveness,
in hopelessness or despair,
trip us bare and wrap us
in the blanket of your transforming grace.
Clothe us in your solace,
dress us in your wisdom,
cover us in your mercy.
Change our struggles into lessons,
our heartaches into hope,
our resentments into forgiveness.
Enfold our anxious and grieving hearts
in the garment
of your comfort and your peace.
