Suggested spiritual Practice for this week:

Prayer through Service

To deepen your prayer practice in this week of Love, you are encouraged to make your work your prayer.  Put feet to your prayer by living in service to others, following the example of Jesus who through his ministry to people was a tangible sign of God’s love. As we begin this last week of Advent praying with the traditional O Antiphons starting on the 17th, as a spiritual practice, offer acts of charity to help others each day. Open yourself to sense God’s presence in the midst of your work.

As we journey into this last week of Advent, the traditional  “O Antiphons” prepare our hearts to receive God’s love made incarnate in the birth of Christ.  They have inspired the traditional Advent hymn:  “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” and my version of the hymn: O Come, O Come, Emmanuel – alt
